Heartspeak has been utilized at the system, school, classroom, and community level, in a range of settings and contexts. Professional development sessions, in-school workshops and stories provide a catalyst to engage and validate individuals representing the ever-changing demographic, their needs and untapped wisdom within a unique school community.

Working together with school staff, teachers, and board leads, Heartspeak provided a series of 4 media Embrace Your School Media Workshops. Teachers shared narratives on camera to build community, shared values and interesest.

Heartspeak’s Shannen’s Dream starts the important conversation for students and teachers about what Indigenous reconciliation means to them.  
Since 2011, Heartspeak has captured stories featuring Indigenous and non-indigenous people related to moving reconciliation related to Indigenous people forward. Heartspeak about Shannen’s Dream focuses on equitable education for First Nations children and youth and provides an education tool to engage students in grades 3+, educators, system leaders, and general public. Toronto Community Housing

Toronto Community Housing 

Heartspeak's interactive workshop series provided a safe space for critical dialogue related to healthy self-image, perception of self and daily challenges.
In partnership with Toronto Community Housing, Heartspeak liaised with youth leadership in 3 neighbourhoods: Alexandra Park, Pelham Park, and Parma Court. A series of of interactive workshops (8 sessions) entitled Get Reel, in priority neighbourhoods to engage young women (ages 12–16) with a safe space for critical dialogue related to healthy self-image, perception of self, and daily challenges. Each location produced a video resource that was screened at a culminating event, allowing the groups to share insights.
Topics: drug and alcohol abuse, sexual assault, body image, peer pressure, abusive relationships.
